REVERSE AUCTIONS

Start with the buyer’s best price first.

Reverse auctions create the conditions that drive strong outcomes, even with fewer buyers.

WHY IT WORKS

Why reverse auctions create stronger pricing.

Buyers don’t act because they want to. They act when they have to. In most sales, they delay, test lower offers, and wait without consequence.

Reverse auctions remove that comfort.

As the price moves down in real time, buyers are forced to decide when to step in before they miss out. This shifts behaviour. Instead of starting low and working up, buyers act closer to their true price, and they do it earlier.

THE TOOLS

The tools behind better private sales.

Reverse auctions work because of the conditions they create. Each part of the process is designed to move buyers from interest to action — faster, and closer to their true price.

REVIEWS

★★★★★

“Started high, watched the price step down, and a buyer jumped in well above what our local agent had quoted us. The whole thing felt fair — to us and them.”

★★★★★

“I was sceptical about reverse auctions. Then I saw how it forced buyers to commit instead of nibbling. Sold in 11 days, well above agent quote.”

★★★★★

“The dashboard was the killer feature. I knew which buyers were watching and how serious they were. Zero of the agent guesswork I’d dreaded.”

QUESTIONS

What sellers ask about reverse auctions.

Is a reverse auction the same as a Dutch auction?
Mechanically, yes — it’s a descending-price auction format. The price starts above your target and steps down until a buyer commits. We use “reverse auction” because that’s how Australian sellers describe it.
What if no buyer commits before the floor price?
You set a floor price the descent never crosses. If the auction reaches the floor without a commit, the campaign simply transitions to a private sale at that level — you don’t sell below your number.
How long does a typical reverse auction run?
Most campaigns settle within 2–4 weeks of going live. Buyers register early, watch the descent, and most acts happen in the first 7–10 days once interest hits a threshold.
Can I switch from reverse auction to private sale mid-campaign?
Yes. The platform lets you flip the campaign mode without re-listing. Registered buyers carry over and you keep the buyer activity history.
